Oscar Piastri has set his targets for the 2024 Formula 1 season, after a competitive debut. The Australian finished on the podiumtwice at the Japanese and Qatar Grands Prix, while also taking aSprint race win at the latter. McLaren had a turn around in formmidway through the season, following major updates to their car atthe Austrian Grand Prix. Piastri had to wait a few races beforereceiving the full update package, but was able to capitalise bybacking up teammate Lando Norris once he did. Speaking to F1.com,the Australian has set his sights even higher for the 2024 season:"In terms of results, it depends a lot on how we are as a team."We've ended 2023 in quite a good place with a competitive car, hopefully we can be the same, if not better - that's the goal. "Formyself, I've got a year of experience in F1, I've been to all ofthe circuits apart from China, so there won't be any completely newones for me." Piastri: Hopefully everything will be more naturalPiastri is confident that his knowledge of the existing circuitswill pay off, having largely not visited most through the 22-racecampaign. "Hopefully everything will just be a bit morecomfortable, but more natural from the start, just keep doing thesame thing," said the Australian. "If that means we're finishing onthe podium or even winning, then of course that's what I'm gonnatry and aim for. If it means you're finishing six or seventh, thenthat's what I'm gonna try to aim for. So just try and keep buildingkeep evolving. "I've got some clear targets, I guess that I want totry and improve from my first season. But yeah, just keep chippingaway at those and wherever we end up is where we ended up."
