Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg has insisted he remains "hungry" for F1success after a difficult first season back in the sport. TheGerman had spent three years on the sidelines fulfilling reserveroles before being drafted by the American-owned outfit to replaceMick Schumacher. Despite displaying impressive pace in comparisonto teammate Kevin Magnussen - including a stunning qualifyingperformance in Canada before a penalty dropped him from second tofourth on the grid - Haas' VF-23 struggled with rear tyredegradation throughout the season and often left Hulkenbergpowerless to defend on race days. Addressing his season highs,Hulkenberg told media including RacingNews365.com : "I feel therewere a couple of really strong drives [at the end of the season],but they were P12, P13, so they don't grab the headlines. "But Iknow that I maximised the potential of what we had and that'simportant for me to know and feel that." Hungry for more On hismotivation, Hulkenberg added: "I still have one of the best jobs inthe world, even though the Sundays aren't great, I still get a lotof joy out of it - probably more than ever before and I alreadylook forward to next year. "I love the grind and I love thecompetition and hungry for more still." Whilst the difficultieswith the car shone through across the season, Hulkenberg felt twooccasions underlined the handicap he and Magnussen were dealt withmore than others. "Car-wise and the way it felt and where westruggled the most, probably Brazil and Monza," he explained."Those two were a standout for how difficult it was and how faraway we were also."
