Aston Martin Team Principal Mike Krack has issued an update on thepartnership between Honda ahead of their partnership in 2026. Newtechnical regulations will be introduced in just over two years'time, which will see a revamp to both the chassis and Power Unitside of the car. Honda has opted to re-enter Formula 1 as an enginesupplier and will join forces with Aston Martin. TheSilverstone-based squad enjoyed a strong campaign this year as itscored eight podiums en route to claiming fifth in theConstructors' Championship. It also moved into a new factory as itupgraded its facilities, with team owner Lawrence Stroll continuingto invest in the squad. Having raced under various guises duringits history such as Force India and Racing Point, it has competedwith Mercedes engines since the 2009 season. However, that willchange in 2026 with Honda currently scheduled to solely supplyAston Martin with Power Unit. With the announcement of the tie-upcoming back in May, Krack outlined what has occurred behind thescenes since then. “The first step that had to be done was to setup some working groups for the different areas to defineresponsibilities, the usual stuff that you do when you have atechnical partnership,” Krack told media including RacingNews365 .“We are already one step further that than that, the working groupsare working together. “[We're looking at] different areas,exploring exchanging experiences and doing simulation worktogether. “And then [we're] also updating each other: what ishappening on the PU regulation side? “What is happening on thechassis regulation side? Is there something that we need to drivein common? “So, all these kind of stuff is going on at the moment.”
