Sergio Perez's Red Bull future will be dealt with "when we faceit", according to boss Christian Horner. Despite securing second inthe standings in 2023, Perez was largely unable to match team-mateMax Verstappen, winning just two races to Verstappen's 19. TheDutchman also bagged 575 points to Perez's 285, with the Mexican'scontract set to expire at the end of the 2024 season. DanielRicciardo has been open in his desire to take the seat back for2025 with both Perez and Horner often facing questions about hisfuture. Horner has been firm in Red Bull's desire to keep Perez onfor 2024, but beyond that, the team will simply handle negotiationswhen the time demands. Horner's Perez update "We'll deal with thatwhen we face it," Horner told media including RacingNews365. "Whatwe want is that if you see Checo's performances in the first partof the year, Bahrain was very, very tight with Max and the race inSaudi was great with the two of them pushing each other really hardwith fine margins. "In Azerbaijan, winning the Sprint and GrandPrix there, they are the types of performances that we know he iscapable of, and it is just about getting him back into that mindframe to get the most out of him and back to those levels ofperformance."
