Max Verstappen has been voted as the best Formula 1 driver of 2023by his peers, with World Championship runner-up Sergio Perez only10th. In an annual vote carried out by F1, Verstappen came out ontop after a dominant season in which he broke the records for mostwins, points, laps led and points gap to second place. The Red Bulldriver had previously won the vote in his two-title winningcampaigns and made it a hat-trick in the 2023 vote. Using thestandard F1 points system, 19 of the 22 drivers voted Verstappentop ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso as Lando Norristook fourth - an improvement of two places of where he actuallyfinished in the standings. Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, AlexAlbon and Oscar Piastri took fifth-eighth in the ballot, withAlpine's Pierre Gasly sneaking into the top 10 in ninth ahead ofPerez. The only 2023 drivers not to take part in the vote wereHamilton, Nyck de Vries and Liam Lawson.
